What Is the Best Way to Watch Basketball? You Decide.

There are so many ways to experience the game of basketball nowadays. Whether you like watching from the comfort of your home, catching the action live at the arena, or enjoying the atmosphere with other fans, people can experience the game however they enjoy it most.

But what’s the best way to enjoy the game of basketball?

Lets break it down

1. At the Arena

  • Pros:
    • The atmosphere
      • In a stadium, you can feel every dunk, cheer, and buzzer-beater in real time.
    • Stadium food is its own experience!
      • Grabbing a bite at a game is part of the basketball experience. Even if your team’s not doing great, you can spend your time at the concession stand!
  • Cons:
    • Expensive!
      • Going to a game is probably the most expensive way to enjoy basketball, especially the higher up you go in the professional ranks. An NBA or WNBA game can easily break the bank.
    • Overwhelming
      • Some fans may find the loud crowd, constant cheering and small spaces overwhelming.
2. At a Bar/ Restaurant

  • Pros:
    • Great social setting!
      • For the fans that enjoy being surrounded by others while watching a game, grabbing a bite to eat can be way less expensive way to socialize while watching a game then going to a game.
    • Good Food!
      • Going to a restaurant allow you to enjoy you're favorite food or drinks  while watching a game.
  • Cons:
    • Distracting!
      • Just because you're at a restaurant or bar for a basketball game, docent mean everyone there is. Some people are there to just eat or drink and talk, which can be distracting.
    • Opposing fans!
      • Just because your favorite team is playing does not mean it is everyone else's favorite team. You have to be open to hearing different opinions, and sometimes that means listening to people cheer against your team.
3. At Home
  • Pros:
    • Money Saver!
      • No need to buy tickets, snacks or drinks! Everything is in the comfort of your home.
    • Best Seat in the house!
      • With HD cameras and replays enjoy the game at your pace in you're favorite seat.
  • Cons:
    • Watching alone!
      • For some, watching alone can make some of the magic of expense the game go away,
    • Streaming Services
      • College game, NBA and WNBA games are no longer just on cable. There on peacock, HBO max, Netflix and Paramount plus. To enjoy your favorite team, purchasing diffrent steaming services is becoming a must.
At the end of the day, everyone is going to enjoy watching the game of basketball in a different way, and there’s nothing wrong with that! Whether you enjoy watching courtside, out with others, or in the comfort of your own home, just enjoy the game.
